Tax and Compliance Associate
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our well established and growing practice. This is a full-time career position with an opportunity for advancement.
The Financial Advisors, LLC, located in Andover, Massachusetts, is a financial planning and investment management firm with a team of 13 professionals. The firm provides services to high net worth individuals and their families. We are dedicated to providing outstanding service to our clients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Preparation of individual, and fiduciary returns
- Tax planning for high net worth individuals
- Research tax issues and formulate clear and concise conclusions
- Recommend client tax planning strategies and ideas to client advisors
- Communication with advisors regarding engagements
- Assist the chief compliance officer to institute and manage best practices with respect to RIA and related compliance requirements
- Interface with compliance consultants
- Communicate with staff for questions and approvals
- Perform or supervise all required testing
- Document internal workflow procedures
- Maintain and monitor required books and records
- Assist with audits and audit preparation
- Actively participate in continuing education and professional growth activities
- Contribute to and foster a positive work environment
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA preferred
- 5 years tax return preparation and related experience preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Quickbooks and experience with UltraTax preferred
- Analytical, technical tax and accounting skills
- Excellent organizational/project management skills and strong attention to detail.
- Deadline-oriented and results driven.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understand the language of compliance and take an interest the topic
- Keep current with compliance rules and regulations
- Maintain calendar of activities and insure completion
