Financial Capabilities Day at State House! The day dawned crisp and sunny in Boston as MassSaves, a nonprofit dedicated to providing financial literacy to residents connected with the Mass. Financial Education Collaborative (MFEC), stormed Beacon Hill to kick-off AmericaSaves week. The main purpose of the day was to promote a financial literacy bill to those in power at the State House. A founding member of the MFEC, Financial Planning Association of New England was one of 25+ organizations to present to the group.

FPA of New England dazzled as our delegation of seven financial professionals stood in unison to support President Dan Galli when he gave a two-minute synopsis of what the FPA of New England embodies. Mr. Galli shared background on the organization’s mission, as well as recent accomplishments with Dana Farber and the National Guard and our newest initiative with the Lawrence Community Center. Immediately following, all FPA of New England members took to the hallowed halls and visited their State Representatives and Senators (or their aides) to offer full access to our many financial professionals to answer questions or provide guidance on any financial related legislation.

Many thanks to Erica Feldblum, government relations chair, for her coordination & preparation of the team that included Dan Galli, John McAvoy, Dick Power, Marybeth Breed, Barrett Costello, Steve Stanganelli, George Noyes and Kristin Beane.
