Financial Planning Association™ of MA:  Seth Corkin, CFP® named the 2017 FPA™ MA Volunteer of the Year

Needham AND Westborough, MA, ISSUED May 23, 2017…Financial Planning Association™ of Massachusetts (FPA™ MA) has selected Seth Corkin, CFP®, ChFC®, as the 2017 recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award.

This award honors Seth for his outstanding contributions to the pro bono financial planning community.

Seth is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® practitioner, Chartered Financial Consultant®, and Wealth Strategist for Bainco International Investors, an asset and wealth management firm in Boston.  He works with executives, individuals, families, and trusts to develop and implement sophisticated planning solutions in order to help clients achieve their personal and financial objectives.

Since 2015 Seth has volunteered his time and expertise as a financial planner to help low-income local residents through the Midas Collaborative and also volunteers as a financial coach for patients at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and actively participates on the NexGen and Finance committees for the Massachusetts Chapter.

“Seth’s commitment to volunteering at all levels in FPA™ MA is a testament to the future of financial planning profession” said Marybeth Breed, CFP®, FPA™  MA Director of Community Outreach.

Seth realized his passion for financial planning while completing his undergraduate coursework at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  While working towards his degree he also volunteered as a Financial Coach to low-income individuals in need of planning and guidance at the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Center in Madison, WI.  After earning a Bachelor of Science in Personal Finance, he pursued the CFP® designation and, at the age of 25, became one of the youngest CFP® professionals in the country.
